individuals, businesses and associations reduce the risk of injury and death
from preventable causes.
Founded in 1950, the
Metropolitan Safety Council provides
safety and health information, training, programs and resources in South Louisiana
and the Gulf Coast region.
incorporated as the New Orleans Safety Council then as the Metropolitan Safety
Council of the New Orleans Area Inc., we are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. Our federal tax
identification number is 72-0459032.
The Council is a
non-governmental organization whose financial support is derived primarily from
education, training and grants from private
business and industry, as well as governmental agencies who recognize the value and necessity of an organization which gives citizens an
opportunity to participate in all aspects of safety and health within the local community.
Our efforts focus
on safety and health in the workplace, home, community and on the roads.
